The awards listed below exist to recognize the work of Canadian career professionals. Some of these awards may require candidates to be recommended, to submit an application or to be a member of an association. CCPA – Doctoral Student Dissemination Award – Counsellor Educator Chapter

The CE Chapter wishes to encourage CCPA members who are pursuing doctoral studies to consider a career as a counsellor educator.

CCPA – Dr. R. Vance Peavy Travel Bursary – Career Development (CD) Chapter

The Career Development Chapter offers a bursary of $300 toward attending the following national conferences: the CCPA Annual Conference, CANNEXUS or NATCON.

CCPA Conference Student Travel Grant

CCPA has provided two $500 awards to students in support of their attendance at the CCPA annual conference. Both awards recipients must attend the full conference.

CCPA Counselling Book Award, The

The book must be written by a Canadian author or authors and must be published in the two years preceding the award event. The same book cannot be considered for two consecutive book awards due to the overlap of publication dates or event dates that may occur.

CCPA Counsellor Leadership Award

To honour excellence in provincial or national leadership by a CCPA member that encourages advancement of the profession.

CCPA Counsellor Practitioner Award, The

The nominee must be a CCPA member in good standing providing a direct counselling service.

CCPA Doctoral Dissertation Award, The

The dissertation must be part of the requirements of an accredited university for a doctoral degree specializing in counselling.

CCPA Master’s Thesis Award, The

The thesis must be part of the requirements of a recognized university for a Master’s degree specializing in counselling.

CCPA Practice-Based Counselling and Psychotherapy Research Award

To recognize CCPA members providing practice-based research advancement to the counselling and psychotherapy field.

CCPA Research or Professional Article Award, The

The article must be published in COGNICA or the Canadian Journal of Counselling and Psychotherapy in the two years preceding the award event.
