Ever wondered why — despite our best efforts to equip leaders and managers for the complexity of today’s world — projects continually come in over budget and below expectations, the mention of change causes people to run and hide, and far too many report a missing sense of contribution and purpose in their work? During this dinner meeting, Trevor Maber will explore the increasingly significant role learning and training expertise can play in responding to these complex challenges! Along with a look at emerging trends and shifts in the leadership landscape, you will take away concrete strategies and thinking toward your work in supporting your leaders, managers and clients to achieve the change they desire and see as crucial to their success.

1. Explore leading-edge research and evidence that is redefining the very nature of leadership and change
2. Understand how these shifts are in turn influencing the role of learning and training experts
3. Examine specific approaches and possibilities for integration into your work that will help respond to this redefinition of leadership and change

Speaker Bio:

As a faculty member at the Edwards School of Business (University of Saskatchewan), Tevor Maber has taught in the areas of leadership, human resources, training & development, presentation skills and case analysis. Previously the Director of People Strategies with SIAST, he leverages over two decades of experience in human resources, organizational development, training and project management to create positive change and continuous learning for the students, clients and organizations he works with. He also partners with a number of leading Canadian consulting groups while entertaining speaking engagements across North America. Along with currently working toward his PhD with Fielding Graduate University, Trevor holds a Masters degree in Leadership and Training from Royal Roads University and numerous coaching, facilitation and assessment certifications.

CANCELLATIONS: The Institute for Performance and Learning does not issue refunds for cancelled event registrations. Cancellations received in writing up to seven days prior to the event date will be issued a full credit voucher to be applied to another event within each calendar year. Delegate substitution is permitted for both registration and credit vouchers.
