The maxim “If it isn’t written down, it didn’t happen” is especially fitting for case note writing and documentation. Would your client files withstand scrutiny? How well you record your client interactions can have significant impacts within employment services. Your notes may affect your client’s progress, your agency’s continued funding, and ultimately, your job! This 3-part webinar series will help you strengthen your ability to write effective case notes through a combination of lecture, group discussion, and case studies.

At the completion of this series, attendees will be able to:

  • Describe the 6 process areas within Case Management that require effective case notes
  • Differentiate between stakeholder interests in case notes and how to satisfy each
  • Identify and apply relevant ethical considerations when writing case notes
  • Recognize and apply knowledge of various acts and regulations such as, FIPPA, Human Rights, Age of Majority, etc. to documentation protocols
  • Consider concise writing techniques to simplify and optimize effective case notes
  • Reflect on documentation models and other guidelines when composing case notes
  • Compare and contrast good/bad case notes
  • Recognize the core elements of writing effective rationales to support clients’ progress
  • Identify when and how to close a case file
