‘2017: The Labour Market Year-in-Review’ will examine the significant labour market research from the past year.

With an election planned for next summer, the Ontario labour market is poised for massive change in the coming year. With radical alterations planned for the minimum wage and employment standards, there will definitely be both positive and negative impacts for our labour market. This year’s workshop: ‘2017: The Labour Market Year-in-Review’ will look at the past year and how it will shape our future labour market. We will carefully examine labour market trends, provide participants with the latest data, review recent studies and reports and look to 2018 to see the occupations and industries with the brightest outlook.

As part of this workshop we will be reviewing the latest data from the past year, devoting special attention to labour market information that is relevant to Indigenous Persons, immigrants, those with disabilities, women, youth and mature workers. Each workshop will feature a local labour market round-up, examining the regional and local labour market.
