The American College of Healthcare Executives Competencies Assessment Tool is offered as an instrument for healthcare executives to use in assessing their expertise in critical areas of healthcare management.
This resource was developed under the Meeting Workplace Skill Needs project. This intervention involves formal career guidance or career counselling that helps employees to identify the competencies they have, identify the competencies they need to develop and explore venues for where those competencies can be put to good use. The Workplace Skills Assessment and Development process (unlike Prior Learning and Assessment-PLAR) focuses both on skills identification by looking to an individual’s past and present learning, and on skills development which has a focus on future career goals and future learning. The intervention consists of a number of skills assessment and development sessions (3 to 10 depending on the person) with significant personal work to be completed by the individual in between sessions. This intervention is delivered by a trained professional career counsellor.
The 15-minute MAPP test comprises 71 different triads, or three statements. You simply choose which one you would most prefer or least prefer, with one left blank. Since there are so many different combinations of answers, there are literally more than a trillion trillion different test results – more than there are people in the world.
Mindfulness is the ability to stay focused, while being aware of your thoughts and surroundings and being able to recognize and move past distractions as they arise. In our information-saturated workplaces, this mental skill is becoming as important as emotional intelligence and technical skills. Research shows that people spend almost 47% of their waking hours thinking about something other than what they’re doing, which impairs their creativity, performance, and well-being.
Identify Barriers to Getting and Succeeding on a Job
Featuring extensive revisions based on customer feedback, Barriers to Employment success (BESI) is now easier to use and more helpful than ever!
Makes an ideal screening tool for administrators and counselors as well as an empowering motivator for clients!
This best-selling assessment gives individuals a quick and easy way to identify the hurdles and obstacles that stand in the way of their job success. Though it takes only 20 to 30 minutes to complete, this powerful inventory not only helps people conduct a more effective job search, it helps them be more successful on the job as well.
Test takers rate 50 simple statements covering five categories: Personal and Financial, Emotional and Physical, Career Decision-Making and Planning, Job-Seeking Knowledge, and Training and Education. After users have identified their barriers, BESI suggests ways to overcome them and helps individuals develop an action plan that can be used in group or individual career counseling.
This new edition has a lower reading level (seventh grade), simplified scoring, new and revised items, and additional validity and reliability data. In addition, BESI’s fourth step now focuses on suggestions for overcoming barriers, while the fifth step devotes more space to developing a plan.
This assessment works well with other JIST-materials, including the Barriers to Employment Success Workbook and theBarriers to Employment Success video.
The success we achieve can largely depend on how well we understand ourselves and those with whom we interact. Much of our time is spent working with others to accomplish objectives. It integrates behavioral, motivational and occupational data together to predict behavior and work satisfaction across situations. The Birkman Method is the personality assessment for improving people skills and aligning roles and relationships for maximum productivity and success.
The first step is to take a good hard look at yourself, where you are, what’s important to you, and where you’re going in your career. This Career Assessment questionnaire will help with that. These are important questions that will provide focus and a basis for evaluating alternatives. This assessment will also help you prepare to clearly communicate your skills, interests, strengths and career goals to others, in print and in interviews.
