In response to repeated inquiries from clients, The Employment and Education Centre in partnership with CERIC undertook preliminary research to answer the question: ‘Are there really legitimate opportunities to work from home?’ The answer is a resounding yes; the number of employers and independent contractor relationships as well as the variety of the skills needed was a surprise. This webinar series will give you and your agency everything you need to offer legitimate work from home workshops in your centre while protecting clients from scams.
Week 1: Uncovering the Scams and keeping your clients safe
In this webinar we will uncover the secrets of the scammers. I’ll share my three part system for staying safe that you can use and share with your clients.
Week 2: The opportunities – part 1
In this webinar we will begin to look at the pros and cons of each of the areas and begin to identify where to find these opportunities. This week we will cover telephone based work, transcription services, translation services, virtual assistant services, and crowdsourcing.
Week 3: The opportunities – part 2
In this webinar we will look at the pros and cons of each of the areas and give you links as to where to find these opportunities. These include consultants and contractors, online tutoring and careers in e-learning , blogging for money, gaming, online surveys, mystery shopping and job boards.
Week 4: Putting it altogether and sharing with clients
Now that we know how to best avoid the scams and where the opportunities are we need to pull it together. We will walk through a 10 week marketing plan, how to deliver the workshop and how to respond to the most frequently asked questions from attendees.
