Pacific Community Resources Society requires a Lifeskills/Employment Readiness Facilitator/ Job Developer for the Baristas Youth Program in Surrey and Vancouver. The successful applicant will be responsible for one-to-one case management of program participants, organizing and delivering the life and employment skills programming components of the program, supporting participants in their work experience placements within the coffee retail sector, and program promotion.
This position requires a high level of skill as a facilitator, as well as a sound understanding of employment and life skills facilitation with at-risk youth and multi-barriered population. Workshops are designed to provide interaction with peers and information on topics such as self-esteem, self-awareness, career exploration and interviewing skills
The position also involves developing relationships with local employers and community organizations, and includes directly marketing and placing clients with employers or supporting clients in their own marketing process. This requires a sound understanding of employability issues and programs, the Transtheoretical Model of Change, motivational and instructional techniques as well as expertise as a career counsellor and as a professional in the field of employment counseling
S/he will be skilled in electronic file management, excellent client service, facilitating small and large groups. Candidates will possess either a BA or a degree in a related field or CSSW or CYCC diploma, Life Skill and Employment Certifications plus 2 years’ experience.
Familiarity with Employment Assessments, the Transtheoretical Model of Change, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Counselling, Life and Employability Coaching, significant understanding of the impacts of trauma, Family Systems, as well as Addictions Counselling Training and familiarity with e-based individual and group counselling and the Canadian Standards and Guidelines for Career Practitioners.

Salary Range: $21.56-$24.54 per hour ($1,509.54-$1,718.20 bi-weekly) (CYCC2) plus "in lieu of" benefits compensation
