We are currently seeking an individual with strong networking and coaching skills to fill the role of Employment Specialist. The Employment Specialist plays a key role in the academic and professional success of students and graduates. You will manage both internal and external customer responsibilities by assisting students and alumni in their job search process and building relationships with employers in the local community.
Specifically, you will be responsible for:
Planning, developing, and administering career and employment assistance programs for students, graduates and alumni
Coaching, supporting and developing partnerships with both graduates and currently enrolled students
Assisting students in preparing for their job search through mentoring, coaching and facilitating activities
Enhancing the student experience by helping them achieve their goal of program completion and post-graduate employment
Building relationships with employers and the local community
Creating strong campus marketing platforms, job lead generation, and employer partnerships
Delivering and/or coordinating presentations/workshop and seminars
To succeed in the Employment Specialist role, you must possess the following competencies and education:
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and cultures
Excellent networking, organizational, and leadership skills
Strong relationship management skills with a commitment to providing quality service
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
Ability to multi-task and prioritize when under pressure
Working knowledge of MS Office Suite
Bachelor’s Degree or College Diploma with 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience
