In 2014, we will hold 10 conversations in this group on topics that are relevant to your work as a career development professional. Note that you have to join the group (it’s easy!) to take part in the conversations.
You obviously know ContactPoint, but what other online resources do you use as a career professional? You can share favourite blogs, online communities, websites, resources, platforms, YouTube channels, apps!
We work with newcomers to Winnipeg, and have been working with Life Strategies to develop materials for our workshop series that we offer. Great resources from a passionate team. https://www.lifestrategies.ca/

Love the topic of online resources! As of late, a number of my clients have been using Huntsy (http://huntsy.com/) as a job search organization tool. And I have been recently exploring HelloSign (https://www.hellosign.com) as a way to obtain online signatures. So far, a really great and affordable tool. Looking forward to sharing more ideas!
To keep abreast of what is going on without it sucking my life away, I use http://www.feedly.com to surf several blogs instantly, and then I can choose what to share. For me, it is all about time and staying aware of what is going on.
Here in Toronto, where I work, there is a great online resource http://www.costi.org/onlineservices which offers free online employment workshops and e-facilitated courses. The virtual library has almost anything you can think of that you need for employment. It is popular among new Canadians as well as people looking for information regarding starting their own business or just wanting to learn about the job market in certain fields. It is a well organized and thought out project.
