I had the opportunity to connect with Angelina Conic, Community Management, with Clickworker.com. We discussed the work done by the independent contractors known as clickworkers.
Tell me a little bit about Clickworker.com
Clickworker was founded in 2005 and is located in Essen, Germany and adopted the idea of crowdsourcing. “Crowdsourcing – based on crowd and outsourcing – describes a system where tasks and projects are delegated to the intelligent masses: Internet users.” Large projects are broken down into smaller pieces and each individual Clickworker is able to use their best talents to contribute to the overall project. Clickworkers are located around the world and I checked to ensure that yes they do contract with Canadians.
What kind of work is it?
The majority of the work is done for websites and is all Internet based. The typical tasks that a Clickworker can select from include:
- keyword indexing,
- photo capture,
- product reviews,
- opinion polls, and
- Internet research.
What are the hours and rate of pay?
As a Clickworker you are paid per task. The more tasks you complete the more you will earn. Angelina shared that the average person earns between $8 to $12 per hour. Setting up a Paypal account allows you to be paid weekly. The hours are flexible and you can work as much or as little as you want.
Are they legitimate?
Yes. They offer real opportunities to work from home. They do not charge any fees or have any additional costs.
Anything else I should know?
Angelina does stress “The most important thing is to take all assessments seriously and qualify with a very good score in order to receive access to available projects.”
